# HR: Leave is requested, approved and counted in one place.

Employees, employment terms, org units and calendars live beside the rest of the business. A leave request counts working days, checks the balance, and waits for the manager and then HR.

An employee asks for five days of annual leave. The manager approves, then HR approves, and the balance goes from 22.5 to 17.5 days.

## What you do with it

**The people side of the business.**

- **Employees**: Contact details and an employee number. An employee becomes a user of the organization only when an admin links them.
- **Employment as a document**: Draft it, start it, give notice, end it or amend the terms. The employer is one of your legal entities, and each term carries the date it takes effect.
- **Leave types and policies**: Allowances that accrue monthly or annually, caps per year or per occasion, carry-over and waiting months, paid or unpaid.
- **Leave requests**: Submitting counts working days in the employee's calendar, holidays left out, and checks the balance. Canceling gives the days back.
- **Manager, then HR**: When a leave type needs approval, the employee's manager decides first, then HR of the legal entity that employs them.
- **Set up from the country**: Setup reads the legal entity's country and adds its statutory leave types, a calendar and a policy. The UAE is covered today; other countries start from a standard set.

## The Agent here

**It answers, and drafts the request.** Anyone can ask how many days they have left. The Agent drafts leave requests and employment changes and submits them with your approval, unless the mode is Full autonomy. The manager and HR still decide.

- `employee.me`: Finds the employee record of the person asking. Runs in every autonomy mode.
- `leave_request.submit`: Submits a leave request and counts its days. Asks unless the mode is Full autonomy.
- `employment.start`: Starts an employment, which makes its terms a fact. Asks unless the mode is Full autonomy.
- `hr.setup`: Adds a legal entity's leave types, calendar and policy. Asks unless the mode is Full autonomy.
- `entity.role.assign`: Gives someone the HR role for a legal entity. No agent runs it in any mode; a person does it in the app.

## Control

**Each person sees what their role allows.**

- Owners and Admins see every HR record. A Member sees their own record and their direct reports.
- The HR role is given per legal entity, and HR decides the second step for that entity's people.
- Sensitive details, such as date of birth, are hidden by default.
- A request reaches the person who decides it, and the decision reaches the employee.

- 2026-09-20 (HR): **Employees, leave requests and leave balances.** HR holds employees, org units, employment records and leave, with UAE rules built in: annual leave accrues monthly, and a request that needs approval goes to the manager and then to HR.
